Hey guys,
I really have no idea how to 'blog', I have never done it before or anything really close to it! So this is all new to me...
Alright I will start with the basics, my name is Shauna, I am 15 years young and live in the land somewhere over the rainbow Oz (Australia).
I love to dance, I have it 6 days a week for the grand total of 10 and a half hours, which believe it or not is really not all that much compared to some (*cough* Dance Moms *cough*). I dance in several styles of dance including ballet, jazz, tap (the usual) contemporary, street tap, slow modern, and hip hop.  This year I have a total of 15 dances, through my studio and school.  I also have the privilege this year of dancing in our school musical, The Wizard of Oz, which I am dreadfully excited about!
I am a
huge musical theater fan, there is not one day where I do not quote, listen or watch a musical.  I think musicals are such a magical thing, they transport you to a land of fun, magic, happiness, tragedy, sadness any emotion you can really think of! Seeing a musical live on stage has to be one of the most magical and joyful experience of my life, I always look back on those memories fondly and will never forget the experience.  My first encounter with a live musical, which also got me completely entranced, was when I was 5 years old.  My mother and Nan took me to go see 'Cats' the musical in a big top when it came to our city.  'Cats' is such an amazingly put together musical, the make up and costumes actually make you believe that they
are talking and singing cats. From then on I have been completely enthralled in musical theater! From the age of five to about 11 I think it was I had watched 'Cats' a million times (as my mother puts it), 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang', 'Sound of Music', 'Wizard of Oz', 'Annie', 'Phantom of the Opera' were also some of my favourite childhood musical films.  When I was 11 our family went down to Sydney and, along with my aunt, we saw Phantom on stage.  The musical was definitely an amazing experience in itself and to be able to see one of my favourite musicals live made the experience that much more special. As a child I always loved the Disney movies, Aladdin, Lion King any really.  Once I entered teenage years at 12/13 I watched the musical film Chicago (as we did it for a dance concert once).  In the recent years (last year) I was completely obsessed with theater, I went to see 'Wicked' the musical with my school, for dance.  Now I could seriously rant on forever about 'Wicked', everything about it was amazing, the score, the actors, the story, the acting, the twist on one of the best (in my opinion) musicals.  I went to see 'Wicked' at Brisbanes QPAC theater on March 2nd 2011, it was I marked one of the best nights of my life.  Jemma Rix and Lucy Durack were playing the lead roles of Elphaba Thropp (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Galinda Upland (Glinda the Good).  They have the most incredible voices in all existence, according to me... I went to see 'Wicked' again in August of that year in Perth, for my birthday, this night was the best night of my life. After the show, where we got seats in the second row from the front, we managed to find and make our way down to the stage door, where we met Lucy and Jemma.  We met Lucy first, I may or may not have cried when I saw her, it was really to amazing to believe that she was there, right in front of me.  So we got her to sign my program, with my pen, and got a photo.  Next came down Jemma, now at the time, Jemma was the best person in the world to me, she was my idol, I just stood there, mouth opened, gaping at her.  My mother managed to speak for me and get her to sign my program too, then we got a photo.  One thing that I always 'brag' about is my moment with Jemma when we both tried to figure out how to turn the flash on this other ladies camera. It was pretty epic.  Looking back on that night though I would have done a few things differently, including dragging the ensemble members including Gretel Scarlett and Suzie Mathers aside for autographs.  But whats done is done and I loved every second of it!! Moving on, I saw Cabaret the musical for school also, and was introduced to Rent, I watched the movie and the Broadway show that was recorded live (Rent: Filmed Live on Broadway) AMAZING musical.  I was also introduced to Legally Blonde the musical.  Now Legally Blonde is my major obsession right now, there was an MTV recording that can be found on youtube of the whole show which I watched and became absolutely entranced in. Crazily, since then I have watched the musical a total of 29 times to the date.  I found out, in November last year, that the musical will be opening in Sydney October 4 this year (2012).  For 5 months I had been eagerly awaiting the cast to be announced, wishing very hard for Lucy Durack to get the lead female role of Elle Woods.  When I found out the cast, I was in drama, I started screaming and crying, I was extremely excited, Lucy in fact did get the role, not only that but the male leads are being played by Rob Mills and David Harris (both Fiyeros in Wicked). Okay, wow, I just looked over what I have written and there is A LOT! So enough about musicals.
